FASD Planning Committee

The FASD planning committee is comprised of representatives from each community that we serve; the seven First Nations including the IFC in SSM.  The FASD Program provides each community with FASD resources, including an educational DVD.

Health Sciences North Sudbury FASD Diagnostic Clinic

This clinic provides pediatric FASD Diagnostic Services. Referrals can be made anonymously as long as there is a confirmation of mother exposing the fetus to alcohol during pregnancy, or referrals can be done by Health/Social Professional or self-referral on the Health Science North- Sudbury website.

FASD Adult Assessment

FASD Adult Assessment can be completed through Norwest Community Health Services in Thunder Bay, ON where the diagnostic process is done through a mixture of in clinic and over OTN. The referral needs to be made through the program coordinator as there are costs attached to this assessment for adults.

System Navigation

Referrals made to the FASD Diagnostic Clinic and the Adult Assessment will be provided with system navigation through the diagnostic process before transitioning the individual and their family back to their long term community worker post-diagnosis.

Traditional Parenting Program for Families Affected by FASD

There are 6 themes in this curriculum addressing issues relating to FASD, also this program can be delivered within your community.

FASD Presentations/In Service

In an effort to provide our communities with updated information regarding FASD prevention we are available to arrange educational presentations for daycare, elementary school, secondary school staff and Band Administration staff.
